JUST THE FAQS (FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS)

April 25-26-27, 2008

FRIDAY 5:00PM - 10:00PM
SATURDAY 10:00AM - 10:00PM
SUNDAY 1100AM - 8:00PM

The cost is $20.00 for the three day ticket and daily admission is $10.00.

WHERE IS THE FESTIVAL AND WHERE DO I PARK?  --   The festival is located at the east end of Atlantic Blvd in Pompano Beach.  The main entrance is at the corner of Atlantic and A1A.  There are additional entrances on the beach, on Pompano Beach Blvd about 300’ south of the Pompano Pier and at Briney Avenue and Atlantic.

There is parking at the municipal lots on the beach across from the pier at N.E.  2nd Street and on Riverside Drive (turn left at first traffic light east of the intracoastal).  There is paid parking available in a number of private lots around the beach.  There is also parking along Atlantic Blvd. between U.S. 1 and the intracoastal.  Free trolley service runs from the parking lots at both Wachovia and Washington Mutual Banks, both found about three blocks east of U.S. 1 on Atlantic Blvd.  Beachside parking lots fill up early.

DO YOU OFFER MULTIPLE DAY TICKETS?  DO I HAVE TO PAY EACH TIME I COME IN DURING THE DAY?  CAN WE BUY TICKETS IN ADVANCE?  --  We do offer a 3 day ticket. It may be purchased at the Pompano Beach Chamber of Comerce ( 2200 East Atlantic Blvd. ) and will be available at the Main Entrance at A1A and Atlantic Blvd. on Friday night.  The cost is $20.00 for the three day ticket and daily admission is $10.00.

We do not offer advance Daily ticket sales.  If you are concerned about long waits for tickets, that rarely occurs.  If you should arrive at the main entrance and it is very crowded, walk a block north or south along A1A and then east to the road along the beach.  Walk back towards Atlantic and you will find alternate entrances that almost never have any wait.

DO YOU HAVE MORE TO EAT THAN JUST SEAFOOD?  -  While seafood is the main attraction, there is plenty of good ole American food as well.

IS THERE SEATING AVAILABLE NEAR THE STAGE?  --  No.  One of the attractions of the festival is that we are on the beach.  Just bring a blanket and stake out a piece of sand.

CAN I BRING MY OWN DRINKS?  --  Unfortunately, the answer to this one is no.  You cannot bring coolers into the festival.  This is not a money issue with us (although you are supporting many local charities when you purchase our drinks).  In this day and age of insurance regulations and security concerns, we cannot allow you to bring in coolers or other large bags.

WHAT WILL I FIND ON YOUR BOARDWALK BAZAAR?  --  Another of our most popular features is our Boardwalk Bazaar (arts and crafts).  It is an incredible mix of arts and crafts, clothing, and local businesses.  The main area is actually on the beach.  Festival volunteers install a 1,200’ wooden boardwalk that stretches from the food area north along the beach towards the pier.   The vendors actually set up in the sand on either side of the boardwalk.   There is an additional area of vendor display along Atlantic Blvd. Between the main entrance and the beach.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE REVENUES FROM THE FESTIVAL?  --  The Seafood festival is a not for profit corporation.  Revenues benefit a wide variety of charities and civic organizations.  It is one of the things that make the festival so unique.  This is a largely volunteer driven event.  Groups like the Boys and Girls Club, the Boy Scouts, Ely High School, and civic groups like the Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce,  the Pompano Beach Fishing Rodeo, Kiwanis, Rotary, Soroptimists,  and others supply volunteers and benefit from the profits.  Over the years hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised for all these groups.

ARE THERE ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS?  Absolutely.  There is a kid’s activities areas with games, bounce houses and small rides.  Food and drinks are available.  There is also a Community Stage in this area featuring local bands, and performance groups.  Plus, many of the vendors on the boardwalk feature toys and kids clothing.
